Sibley, the son of "Skyponydogboy" (Brent) was killed while serving his country in Afghanistan on Wednesday. Brent is among many who no longer frequent this site on a regular basis, but as with all who come here - he is part of the famABBly. Please keepp Brent in your thoughts and prayers. A Pensacola staff sergeant was one of two U.S airmen killed Wednesday in Afghanistan. The Pentagon announced Staff Sgt. Forrest B. Sibley, 31, of Pensacola, Florida and Capt. Matthew D. Roland, 27, of Lexington, Kentucky died after the vehicle they were traveling in was attacked near Camp Antonik, Afghanistan. According to reports, the two were killed when a gunman dressed in an Afghan security forces uniform opened fire near the southern Afghanistan base. Coalition soldiers returned fire on the attackers, wounding the gunman and another person in an Afghan security forces uniform. Sibley was assigned to the 21st Special Tactics Squadron, Pope Army Airfield, North Carolina. Roland was with the 23rd Special Tactics Squadron, Hurlburt Field, Florida. Four U.S. troops have died in combat in Afghanistan since the start of the year. Since 2001, more than 1,800 American soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan operations.
