Jonesy I think we can agree without a doubt that folks will have more disposable income to spend on concert tickets, and will therefore all related bands (read: jam bands) will see some increase in ticket sales. For sure. Just not sure about how much of that would directly get spent on bands that specifically play ABB music...

"I think it's a big misconception that after the ABB is over Dickey's popularity will suddenly surge. Folks have always had the choice to buy tickets to whichever shows they felt like attending. I don't think being an ABB fan or DBGS fan are mutually exclusive. Fans can still get their ABB "fix" from GA&F as well, as they can toda, but I don't think Gregg's band is suddenly going to sell that many more tickets either. " Interesting topic. I am not sure I agree, although obviously we will see. Remember when Garcia died? The ABB and Phish (particiularly the latter) received an influx of fans. Now clearly there were a lot more Grateful Dead fans then there are ABB fans today, but I wouldn't be surprised to see somewhat of an up tic in fan attendance. I actually think Dickey will realize it more than Gregg because Dickey is, for lack of a better description, more similar to the ABB than Gregg's band. Gregg distinctly tries to create a different sound and feel to his shows, and Betts clearly brings it like (OK, or better) than the ABB. TennKev---no, I didn't hit the Phil shows here, and believe me I wanted to. Phil Lesh and his various bands are among the most interesting to me and I really dig him and them. I think he'll be back soon though

Looks like a great set list for last nite. Interesting that ABB performed at least 2 tunes written by DB.

No, they played just last night actually. What happened in 2000 was Dickey Betts was fired. But the band carried forward. Another common misconception. Also, just in case you didn't know, Butch Trucks is Derek's UNCLE not FATHER. Fun facts about the ABB, I'm full of them. 🙂

ABB stopped existing, in reality, back in 2000.

It's probably time to get our house in order here because after the Beacon run there will most likely be a lot more folks coming by to see what's up with Dickey and where is he playing next. We can say goodbye to the ABB but did they really ever leave? Nah, they just changed names back in 2000 I guess.

At least when I was banned, I stayed banned and didn't return. I didn't change names again and again and again for the sole purpose of being a troll like you. Nice job of ignoring . Butt hurt much?
