Allmanned I totally agree! On that note- Deep Purple, Grand Funk Railroad, Chicago, not in but Public Enemy is?
3 overlooked groups from the Rock era late 60s early
70s Moody Blues Steppenwolf and Quicksilver Messenger Service all had some chart success and shitloads of musical ability. Rock hall of fame some selections are not worthy.
Ned - I agree.
Also, why are the Moody Blues not in the HOF?

How the Hell did Joan Jett get in the rock hall of fame.Isn't some degree of talent needed. Lou Reed as a solo act. What nonsense.
Just so you all know, there is a new multi-disk Mike Bloomfield anthology called "From his head to his heart to his hands." It is available from Amazon (and other sources I'm sure) and the price is quite reasonable.
It's about time!
The Paul Butterfield Blues Band and SRV & Double Trouble are now in the R&R Hall of Fame.
They (whoever "they" might be) finally got something right.
I think Lindsey Buckingham is one of the most under-rated guitarists of all time. Go watch The Dance video to see what I mean!
Heading for the hospital last Friday I heard on the radio that it was your birthday: Hope it was a wonderful day for you! They announced they would play 2 songs as tribute to your writing and performing skills, both of which are at the top of any mountain! The first was Ramblin' Man, and the second was the finest song ever of any genre in my ears and in my heart: Blue Sky. Thank you, thank you for that song, the beauty of its message, but above all else, the beauty and wonder of the lead guitar. Man you rule. Keep on pickin' please!
Happy belated to the cat in the hat!

Christine McVie is the real deal. She's always been one of my all-time favorites.
Glad you enjoyed the concert!
To completely change the subject. My wife and I went to see Fleetwood Mac in Denver on Friday night - wow! With Christine McVie back in the linup they were darned near perfect (pun intended). Great show, new takes on some of their stuff, but tight and well presented.
Before I'm accused of indulging in nostalgia, I'll plead guilty. But, so what - it was great show, great muscianship, and a great time.
If anyone here has a chance to see them this time around, you won't be disappointed.
BTW - John McVie is as good bass player as I've ever heard and Lindsey Buckingham is a monster guitar player with exquisite tone and vituosity.
Warren and Gov't Mule said a Happy Birthday to Dickey Friday night at The Pre-Jam playing Blue Sky (w/ Jack Pearson and Oteil).
Last night at Christmas Jam the Jam Band paid respect to The MTB.
Peace & Get Behind The Mule,

I see some folks are trying to get Duane Allman in the Rock hall of fame as a solo artist.More like a session player. Also worthy of that category might be
Glen Campbell or Jesse ED Davis the forgotten guitar great. Non performer Joseph Red Dog Campbell. Why the hell isn't he in. Most famous roadie ever and a Vet to boot.
