I hear ya Brother Nic. I don't know the whole story about the gambling or anything else but I don't have any problem w/ him betting on his team to win.
Now, if he was changing line ups, putting in scrub pitchers, making stupid calls and doing sh*t that was going to cause his team to lose and betting on them to lose, that's a different thing entirely.
He definitely helped to put the team together that eventually won the world series in 1990 and there is no denying his accomplishments as a player.
I guess I'm biased as a Reds fan. I've read some stories that he is a real asshole in person, but I don't know. Never met the dude, but damn.......what a baseball player he was.
Being a long time Ohio native and baseball fan I am glad to read Barry Larkin has been selected to the Baseball HOF!!! I do wish Pete Rose was in the HOF. I would go see him in the 60's at Crosley Field when I was a boy. I also wish he would have never bet on baseball. I do hope to see Pete inducted in my lifetime. Peach.

The ONLY issue on this GB stems from the behavior of Prine. And until Lana or whomever is admin does the right thing and BAN the Dunce self-sucker, then my suggestion is pass over the very appropriate responses.

I don't have a specific rooting interest in tonight's game, although one of my favorite pro football players went to Alabama (Namath).
Saban is a good coach, don't know what kind of person he is but Miles is a crafty guy who seems to push all the right buttons in big games.
