Honestly, folks, people make mistakes. Why do we seem to think it's a crime for a medical professional to make a freaking mistake, for heaven's sake? I think the nurse did the right thing even though it cost Nic some extra money. If she had been right she very well could have saved Nic's life. From the sound of it, she erred on the side of caution.
Nic, I'm sorry that you had more out of pocket expense, but sometimes it goes with the territory. If I am wrong about my understanding of the facts that occurred, I do apologize.
Hi Kitty. I will most likely hit my out of pocket again this year so I guess it really doesn't matter. Between the copay for her to come and the ER copay it was an expensive day which most could have been avoided.

Tomorrow is Pam's Birthday. We are going to venture out to a local pizza place with the kids and my sister is joining us. Will be my first time out and I am looking forward to it. Nic - what an ordeal. Glad they found a pulse at the ER, but dayum - maybe you should give the ER bill to the home health nurse and let her/him pay it...geez. Still glad you're home and OK. It's a relief.

My first visit today from my home health care nurse did not go as well as I hoped. She indicated she could not find a pulse in my left foot and indicated I may have a blood clot. She called my surgeon and he instructed her to tell me to go to the local ER and have it checked out. Pam took me just about the time Rob and Sarah came to visit and for supper. Both the ER nurse and doctor had no trouble finding the pulse. All is just fine. Her error was somewhat expensive for me to say the least.
Like I said yesterday there is no place like home. I am feeling better each day. Thanks for the continued support. Peach.
