http://www.burgherzberg-festival.de/index_e.html
I'll order my tickets today ... Hope to see some of you 😉
Nic, you are a very big inspiration to me and I was delighted to help Dan Toler on your behalf and would do it again in a minute!
I haven't been able to capsulize my feelings about the Macon weekend yet, but the concert itself was one of the best I have ever seen.
I knew Barry Richmond was a big hairy gorilla of a guitar maniac and I discovered that was an understatement.
I knew Dan Toler had the sweetest smoothest licks this side of Dickey Betts and even from his wheelchair he was the best I ever heard him and I had seen him on three other occasions.
I did not know about Caroline Aiken and I think she can capture a stage about as well as any entertainer and I wish I had been listening to her for the last thirty years.
And I knew Jimmy Hall had the biggest loudest most powerful set of lungs in the whole world but I did not know that it was physiologically possible for anyone his age to sing the same way he did when he was in his 20's.
I knew there were a lot of attractions in Macon for Allman Brothers fans but I didn't realize the town has spirits and ghosts and a soul of its own that envelopes you as you walk down its streets.
And I knew there were a whole lot of really terrific amazing people who show up here on the GB regularly, but there's no way to calculate how it really is a brotherhood and a family. Once there, everybody put his/her own agenda aside and cared more about what everybody else wanted to do. I totally enjoyed everybody I met.
I don't hear about those kinds of things too often. To me, especially on the wings of my trip to Mt Pleasant the Thursday before, it was Nirvana.
Dangerous Dan Toler has been a huge inspiration to me in my battle with cancer. Pam and I Love him very much. Thanks to all of you who have helped out our Brother in need. You all are a great bunch!!!! Peach.
Thanks to innereye and Rainy for the Beacon 7 Turns. 2008? Geez. I traded a copy of No Saints No Saviors with Pedro for a backstage pass - that's me behind the curtain, stage right, along with the Bomberry's. Last beer I ever had - went up to the "green room" and no one had touched a thing - not a beer, not a chicken finger - guess no one was hungry.
The house wasn't full and it was such a great show. Memories...sweet memories.
Oh yeah, thanks Pedro. Did you EVER get to read the book? - Bud Snyder snatched it up and then it went on to Mom last I heard.
It's days like today that make me feel like... like I'm in love for the first time...with anything that moves....yeah, it's a shameless Jimmy Buffett rip off but it still applies.
Dickey might be playing Germany in July:
This is a post about Gov't Mule... but look at the last line:
Two Dates in Germany have been confirmed by eventim.de:
> 14.7. Winterbach/Stuttgart Salierhalle 19.7. Isernhagen Bluesgarage
> The Isernhagen date is labeled as a club concert and ridiculously priced at 68€. However, you can get a combi ticket together with Dickey Betts the following night.
I'm just sayin'...
Peace & Ride The Mule,
Tom :smoke:
Definitely a blue sky day here in Sowf Kuhlana. Gamecock Womens basketball rocks! Gamecock Mens basketball does not.
