Yep, Devon could nail the look AND the hook, as well as Oakley Jr. I see a trend forming here... I do not, however, see Chas Bono playing the part of Cher. I have to give the nod to Rook also. Tone and technique. I'm very partial to the Dickey and Danny years.

Rainy - this is what I found - it has been recorded by many singers but I am only familiar with Tom Jones - "I (Who Have Nothing)" (sometimes billed as "I Who Have Nothing") is a song originally released in English by Ben E. King in 1963. "I (Who Have Nothing)" is based on the Italian song "Uno Dei Tanti" (English: "One of Many"), with music by Carlo Donida and lyrics by Giulio "Mogol" Rapetti.[1] "Uno Dei Tanti" was released by Joe Sentieri in 1961. The English lyrics for "I (Who Have Nothing)" were written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, who also produced the Ben E. King record using the backing track from Joe Sentieri's record (orchestra conducted by Luis Enriquez Bacalov).

Hi folks, Nice post IdlewildRick on Lamar -- his successor, David "Rook" Goldflies had such a great tone too -- that bass solo 4/20/79 during Pegasus -- but in general, all his playing -- has such a unique & cool sound to it, & a wonderful player to harness it I always thought -- like the 3/19/83 BHLT show, just a great well-versed musician

I read this morning that movie rights have been sold for GA's "Not My Cross to Bear". I dunno if he's into acting, but if I were the director, I would go after Mr. Duane Betts and cast him to play the young Dickey. Who could possibly be cast as Duane? The only cat I've ever seen that looks like Duane was "Floyd" from The Muppets band! Although Floyd plays bass, me thinks Jim Henson had a favorite guitar player. Who would YOU cast for the parts? This is gonna be fun.

Hard to choose against Woody... glad I don't have to really make a choice... they have all been very good. I love the presence that Otiel brings to the stage... Brother Dave is a damn fine player as well...

OK, since there was a discussion earlier re Brothers & Sisters it got me to thinking...which bass player do you favor after the Oak? All of the bass players are bad assed. Whew on any given gig...wow. But for me, whenever I hear Lamar, it just works. He had such an incredible ear and sense of where to go. I go back and listen to him and focus on his melodic playing and I am floored. I love all of them, including O Sr. and O Jr. But Lamar brought this smoothness that grooves deep, so my vote would go to Lamar.

Thank You all for the birthday wishes... I am looking forward to some gigs this summer, notsure when or where, but hope to catch one or two... in the meantime I will settle for the BAND, who seems to gig here and there almost every night... to the point where I feel guilty having to miss so many gigs... wish I could afford to catch them all... Kach, Frankie, Duane & Pedro out west, James, Bain (roadcase), Kim, Andy in NYC.... and of course, the one and only "Man in the Hat" Thanks too to Adam for overlooking the criticism and contributing his spare time to the betterment of this site.... PEACH LOVE and MUSIC forever !!!

Brothers & Sisters damnI wore that album out and the cd to boot. I already have the live show if it is indeed the the one and it is fantastic.! .As for Brothers & Sisters I would buy that again if I have too.But what I am interested in are the the out takes. Is "Berry's Jam" finally going to be released? I can only hope. Years ago it was either Dickey or Gregg said that hopefully "Berry's Jam " would be released someday(maybe now)!.
