The Concert Hall was rockin' last night! Dickey and the band are just incredible! PLEASE...do yourself a favor and go and catch a show! Nobody comes close to the original ABB tone and feel like the Cat-in-the-Hat!

getting great reviews of last night's gig...sorry perry if you were unhappy... but based on your post it appears your mind was made up in advance... fine... I understand, you are from the abb generation... jam band with dual slide noodling... not my gig, but enjoy whatever floats your boat... Dickey is one fine man with a ton of character off stage and on... IMHO Now I am off to enjoy Kim bett's great band... the road goes on... Miss all my NYC dickhead friends... :guitar:

Great gig for the Blues Doctors last nite - the folks at The Pourhouse in Loveland Colorado were rockin' to the blues for sure. Highlight of the nite was "One Foot in the Bayou" the crowd loved it.

I have now listened to all 6CDs of the new Fillmore East Recordings and I am glad I took the plunge. The music goes without saying but the sound quality is very good. I like the separation between DA & DB with BO nicely in the middle. I agree with Tom Dowd that the horn had to go. It is probably more a distraction than anything. I have no knowledge about 'Juicy' Carter so maybe he is playing some cool jazz that I can't understand! It sounds very reedy to me. I wish Tom Dowd had of taken some of the horns out of EQT's debut too but I think he was responsible for them being there! The one thing I am not sure about is the physical size of the set. The book is nice but it's large and is going to be a pain to store. I wish there was an option for a more conventional size set but overall I am a happy camper! 😎

I've seen Dickey a few times on his own since he left ABB. twice he seemed like he was trying to emulate the Brothers. Set up of the original band with Chuck and Gregg on either side, dual percussion and drums, etc. We weren't impressed either time but I thought I'd give him another chance. When I saw the setup (and I've been to this venue before so knew the stage is on the small side) I did a holy crap moment with the three Marshall stacks jammed in on stage and the bass player virtually hidden behind the keys. To me - and I'm no expert although I've seen ABB numerous times since the Fillmore - Dickey is a shadow of his former self. I heard people wondering as the opening act played if Dickey was going to be his "usual pain in the butt". And to me he was. Seems like no one had seen the venue so they brought all their equipment. And it didn't seem to take long for Dickey to start complaining. All I could think in my head were comparisons to the current ABB lineup. I think Oteil is better than Dickeys bass player, Derek Trucks is heads and shoulders above Dickey on guitar and Warren is way better than either Dickeys son or the other guitarist. For a $85 ticket price the comparisons to me were inevitable. To me that band was not ready to play that place. And it's a shame that a guitarist formerly of a band that's sold out The Beacon fifteen nights has come to this. I'm not intimate of the whys Dickey was asked to leave the ABB but I thought no way can he keep up with either of the current ABB guitarists. He seems very bitter to this day. And a bit of a Prima Donna.

Walter, why feed the trolls? This is obviously the same asshole who was around a couple years ago If its posts won't be deleted, don't engage this person -- you're better than that dude -- reading this shit does nothing for nobody any word on Baldwinsville last night anyone? Or the NYC show tonite? (they're probably onstage right now)
