Madness of the West (for the life of me I can't understand why that one doesn't get more love)
then, Little Martha fills out the one side of the 90 min tape almost perfectly :ya:
thank you always for the tunes, Mr. Betts
I remember a few years back I made a tape (cassette)...maybe more than a few years... of Dickey instrumentals.
Went something like this:
In Memory of Elizabeth Reed
Les Brers in A minor
Jessica
High Falls
Pegasus
True Gravity
Kind of Bird
Duane's Tune
Must have been late 80's...
Always loved the anticipation of a new studio release and the Dickey signature instrumental.
His compositions are medicines for the soul.

"He's 34 and drinkin' in a Honky Tonk, kickin' hippies' asses and raisin' hell."
Up against the wall Redneck Mothers....
Peachmaniac I bet that was great! I just found a vinyl of the Mr Bojangles album. JJW is the man. Viva Terlingua!
Wonder if Dickey will ever play Duane's tune or Pegesus again.Have a great night.
Circus Maximus was Jerry Jeff Walkers first album. Sounds like there was some LSD involved.A little too Far Out for Mr. Bojangles.
Anybody remember Circus MaximusI,m sure I spelled that wrong. Better load the pipe.
Brian Farmer's guitars are for sale.
Lots and lots of guitars:

Peace & Get Behind The Mule,

Nice to hear that Jerry Jeff Walker is still gettin' it done. I love those Texas outlaw country dudes including Ray Wylie Hubbard (he had the misfortune to write "Muskrat love", but his other stuff is great), Guy Clark, Joe Ely, and too many more to mention (no, I haven't forgotten Willie and Waylon).
Very cool that you got to meet Dickey. I hope you have that entire event committed to memory.
DDT was the man! Miss him a ton... 🙁
Always had a dream to go to Austin for the music scene. So 3 weeks ago on a whim I drove 700 miles from Santa Fe NM to go see one of my favorite outlaw country stars Jerry Jeff Walker. With a stroke of luck I got to sit in the front row at Austin City Limits and it was one of the best musical experiences I ever had. Only 2nd to sitting in the front row at BB Kings seeing Dickey when Dan Toler was playing with him and if that wasn't enough getting to meet Dickey backstage because of the generosity of Dan! That was a moment I will never forget. Dan Toler was a total class act and also the guitarist who sounded best along side Dickey. Anyways my all time wish list would be for Dickey and Jerry Jeff to do an acoustic show together that would be the BOMB!
Dobro - thanks for getting back to me.
According to the expert who looked at my guitar (Wildwood guitars, Louisville, Colorado) the neck on mine has been reset.
My neck does have binding. The "Gibson" logo is right where it should be, just no autograph from Lester. And, no serial #.
The knobs are highhats - obviously not from 1952. Prolly a later addition.
Glad you like the video. I love that tune.
Nice vids, guys!
Such a mystery, nacm...
Here's a quote buried deep within.....
www.mylespaul.com
"Going by that picture, it seems like they do not have the shallow neck angles of the original 52s and 53s!!! That is good. But the first 52s did not have SNs nor neck binding. Leave it to Gibson to not get the detail correct on ANY Les Paul they ever build. I wonder if the speed knobs are thicker, like the early Les Pauls? I wonder if the Gibson Logo is lower on the headstock? The trapeze is not correct either. Shouldn't have a poker chip."
Could it be the rare bird??
Nice video yourself!! Well done!
Not sure where you're at, but maybe we should see if The Blues Doctors and Southern Tradition could possibly do a show together!
Video below from when I was in the country band I started that I am no longer with.
😎
Bluesky - thanks for the compliment. It means a lot when other players appreciate what I'm trying to do.
BTW - the tune in the video is a classic old Clifton Chenier tune. I highly recommend his version (or anything by Clifton & the Red Hot Louisiana Band).
Also - that's one beautiful Paul you've got there Bro. I really love that finish.
