No doubt, Willie's book is an antigravity book ya just can't put it down... I read it cover to cover TWICE (including Lizzie's great forward) before I could take a break from it. I am 67 miles west of the city for tonight, but will drive in if there's a party happening (no funerals) when i die dont put me in no graveyard, you know that's one place I don't wanna be... Just lay me down somewhere along the highway (41) and let this ramblin' spirit be FREE :yep:

Nancy and I just took a walk through Central Park. Came out on the West side and just checked out the Concert Hall. Went inside and a funeral was taking place right where we will all be tomorrow. Life is very interesting!

OH, sometimes a little heads up does not hurt anyone. Willie made it so interesting, I could not put the book down. Maybe someday Pedro will met Willie in person and that would encourage him to read the book that EVERYONE else had already read.

Think of it this way, he's having his own adventures - he doesn't have to read about another r&r band's doings 40 years ago!!!!

I enjoyed Willie's book so much I cannot believe he has not read it yet. Maybe someone could read it to him while he is recording and then he could get 2 things done at the same time.

Hell, no, I'LL read it to him on the bus!!!!

Good morning everyone. Any news from last night's gig?
Capn wrote on July 22, 2010 at 3:56 pm
I will volunteer to read it to him on the bus :boomerang:

Lizzy, I do not think he has. I have gotten 2 to him besides the ones you have given to him. Which just goes to show that so many other people love it. If only Pedro could slow down long enough to read anything. I keep telling him it is a must read.

So you gave Pedro a book and dozens read it... seems you cost 4 speed some book sales :wall:

Thank you, Rain Lady. That was a special night. I gave Pedro one of Willie's books in return for a pass and I sat on the floor of the Beacon stage for the first time. That is an absolute NO NO for The ABB. People kept "borrowing" the book from Pedro; wonder if he ever got to read it! These past four years have flown; at least it seems so now. Have to clean the house today. Company's a comin'! WOW, tomorrow? Is it really tomorrow? I'm getting that giddy, giggling feeling. I am REALLY looking forward to spending time with my best friends (truly) and listening to the Cat in the Hat (somebody pinch me - ooops, I bet somebody would - scratch that). LOL. :guitarist: This is truly a Blue Sky day everyone. It's Sandy's birthday. :flower:

This is from DBGS @ Beacon 06'... myinnereye had posted this on youtube...what a great night this was... I dont think Dickey had been back to the Beacon since 2000 with ABB... it was high energy and at times quite an emotional night... This is one of my favorite songs.. I play this alot... We are on the eve of The NYC Concert Hall, DBGS.... Where is my Red Doggie :dog: this morning ?

I thought a lot about this before posting, and I hope it is not taken the wrong way. There is a another Brother that, like Brother Red Dog, is facing certain health challenges. Rick Kurtz is a truly great guitar player...he has played with Brother Dickey before.....and recently experienced a severe stroke. He is undergoing therapy and relearning how to play guitar. Cowboy is going to play at a benefit for him for those that may be in the area and want to enjoy that show. Please, dont take my post as competing for the same space as Brother Dog, because Im not. Rick is a cool dude and if anything, wanted to let Dickey know about Rick's health and let folks know about the gig for him. Thanks. www.rickkurtzbenefit.com

The focus right now is Brother Dog and taking care of him and his needs. As it should be.
Pastdreams wrote on July 22, 2010 at 2:11 am
Just wanna clear something up. There was some concern expressed that I was encouraging people NOT to attend Red Dog's benefit concert (I guess maybe because I mentioned that there are expenses involved and all the money won't go to him). That is not my intention in posting information about the Fund that is being administered by Willie. It's only to encourage those who are not attending this concert to do what they can, if they can. By all means, if you can attend this event, GO! It'll be a blast and it's for a great cause - helping out a brother. And they say the brotherhood was dead long ago. I think not.
